Bear Creek Horse Camp offers the following facilities and amenities:

  • Four main loop trails totaling about 45 miles that travel through forests and creeks
  • Camp is primitive
  • Vault toilet
  • 3 hitching rails
  • Nearby creek for stock water – dries up in summer
  • Trails are marked with yellow blazes
  • Trails are multi-use

 

Horse Riding

Strayhorse is the trailhead for two major trails: Highline Trail #47 follows the bottom of the Mogollon Rim and Raspberry Trail #35 provides access to the Blue Range Primitive Area.

  • No reservations. Sites are available on a first-come/first-based only.
  • Max vehicle length - small trailers only. Max length of stay - 14 days. Max group size - 6 persons per site.
