Campground Features

Carson Horse Camp features six spacious pull-through sites, each equipped with water and power hookups. Campers will find a picnic table and fire ring at each site, perfect for relaxing evenings under the stars. Additionally, each campsite rental includes up to two horse stalls, with a total of 12 stalls available. A central bathroom and shower facility serve the campground, providing added convenience and comfort.

Trail Riding

Blakeley State Park boasts more than a dozen miles of scenic trails accessible for horseback riding. The park offers convenient trailer parking, making it easy for campers to explore the expansive trail network. Whether you're a seasoned rider or new to horseback riding, the trails at Blakeley State Park offer a thrilling adventure through diverse landscapes and stunning natural beauty.

New Horseback Riding Trail

Blakeley State Park welcomes horseback riders to experience its new horseback riding trail. This multi-mile route takes riders through some of the park's most popular horse-accessible trails, providing a unique and immersive experience in nature.

Campground Guidelines

Campers at Carson Horse Camp are required to bring their own buckets and wood shavings for horse stalls. Additionally, campers must clean out stalls prior to departure and deposit manure in designated areas. These guidelines ensure a clean and pleasant environment for all visitors.

Carson Horse Camp offers the following facilities and amenities:

Blakeley welcomes horseback riders to try our new horseback riding trail. The trail offers riders a multi-mile route through some of the park's most popular horse-accessible trails! The park has cabins, RV, and primitive camping facilities, as well as facilities available for rental for a variety of special events.

 

Cost Details:

  • $3 to $8 - General Park Admissions
  • $8 for each horse and rider combo
  • $35 per night for up to four people.
  • All additional campers are $5 each per night for ages 6 and up

 

Notes:

  • Campers are required to provide their own buckets and wood shavings for horse stalls. Campers must clean out stalls prior to departure and deposit manure in the bunker.
  • Normal check-in is between 1 PM and 7 PM; late check-in is 7-9 PM. The Park gate closes at 9 PM and only checked-in guests will have access to the current gate code. Check-out is 11 AM
  • Pets are welcome but must remain on a leash at all times.
  • Negative Coggins test required at check-in.
