Nestled on the border of the hand-planted forest and the pristine native grasslands, the Natick Campground stands as a serene haven in Nebraska's Bessey Recreation Complex. Offering a tranquil respite from bustling city life, this campground, with its 17 well-equipped units, is the perfect retreat for nature enthusiasts and horse riders alike.

Designed for Quietude and Convenience

Compared to its bustling counterpart, the Natick Campground boasts a peaceful ambiance, ensuring visitors a quiet and relaxing stay. The campground features 20 corrals tailored explicitly for riding stock, providing ample space and facilities for equestrian adventures. Each of the 17 units offers modern amenities, including picnic tables, fire rings, and modern vault toilets, catering to the needs of both casual campers and seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

A Scenic Haven for Nature Lovers

Positioned at the juncture of the meticulously hand-planted forest and the untouched native grasslands, Natick serves as a gateway to explore and appreciate the diverse landscapes that define this region of Nebraska. Directions:

From Thedford, Nebraska: Take Highway 2 east about 17 miles to the forest entrance.  At the national forest sign, turn south (right) onto State Spur 86B. Stay on State Spur 86B west for about 1.5 miles, then take Forest Road 212 about 7 miles to the campground.

 

Natick Horse Camp offers the following facilities and amenities:

  • 17–uni campsites
  • 20 horse corrals
  • Hand pump for water
  • Picnic tables
  • Fire rings
  • Modern vault toilets

 

Cost Details:

  • $15.00 per night to be paid at the fee station within 30 minutes of arrival.

 

Policies:

  • Livestock must be fed certified weed-free hay.  Livestock must be kept in the corrals; portable panels and electric fencing are not allowed.  Livestock are not allowed to be in campsites, except for saddling and unsaddling (no more than 30 minutes). 
  • Please clean the corrals after use with the wheelbarrow provided and deposit manure in the bunk.  
  • Please do not let your dog swim or bathe in the windmill tank as it is there to water the livestock.
  • Campfires are allowed in the fire rings.  Do not bring wood from other areas.
  • No ATV or side-by-side riding is allowed from this campground.

  • A windmill provides water for livestock.
  • Campground is first-come, first-served.
  • Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
