Newly Renovated Campgrounds

For guests seeking a comfortable stay immersed in nature's beauty, the park's newly renovated campgrounds provide a delightful retreat. With 50, 30, and 20 amp electrical sites, a modern restroom and shower facility, a convenient dump station, and inviting picnic areas, campers are assured of a serene and enjoyable stay.

This dedicated campground offers two electrical sites along with additional primitive camping facilities, providing a perfect setting for horse lovers to enjoy the peacefulness of nature's embrace.

Directions:

Hacklebarney Woods Park is located 1 mile northeast of the U.S. Hwy 34 and U.S. Highway 71 intersection, 4 miles north of Villisca, IA.

 

Hacklebarney Woods offers the following facilities and amenities:

  • 50,30,20 amp electrical sites
  • Restroom/shower facility
  • Dump station
  • Picnic areas

 

Equestrian Campground/Riding Trails

The equestrian area is located just north of the Hwy 34 / "V" Ave intersection.  This area is designated for trail riding and equestrian camping.  This campground offers two electrical sites ( $15.00 / night) and additional primitive camping ( $10.00 / night).  Daily trail rides are also permitted with the purchase of a  $1.00 / day trail riding fee.  The equestrian camping area and trails are subject to closure at the MCCB's discretion based on recent rainfall and wet trail conditions. Please call the MCCB office for more information.

  • Electrical Sites - $15
  • Primitive Camping - $10 
  • Main Campgrounds - Campground A, 15 sites, electric only (50,30,20 amp) at $15.00 / night, Campground B, 15 sites, full hook up at $20.00 / night, restroom/shower house, and dump station

  • We do not accept reservations as our campsites are on a "First Come First Serve" basis.
  • Camping Season - April 1st through October 15th
  • Daily Park Hours - 6:00 AM through 10:30 PM
