Highland Ridge Horse Campground in Spring Valley, WI is a beautiful horse campsite in the Midwest. Its breathtaking views overlook the sparkling Eau Galle Reservoir, nestled amongst western Wisconsin's rolling hills and lush forests. As the snow melts away and the spring flowers begin to bloom, the landscape transforms into a tapestry of vibrant colors and textures, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in this serene oasis. The calm waters of the reservoir are ideal for fishing and canoeing, while the winding trails that carve their way through the lush forests present endless opportunities for hiking and horseback riding. Whether on foot or on horseback, visitors can take in the breathtaking panoramas of the area, with stunning views at every turn. From the vibrant greenery of the hillsides to the tranquil waters reflecting the clear blue skies, there is no shortage of beauty to behold. Highland Ridge Campground offers 46 campsites, including eight walk-in tent sites. Camping facilities include showers, trash/recycling stations, an interpretive building, water fill stations, a dump station, and a playground. In the summer months, Park Rangers offer interpretive programs on Saturday evenings. Equestrian Loop at Highland Ridge offers ten non-electrical camping sites. A variety of amenities are available to campers, including manure pits, hitching posts, satellite toilets, water fill stations, a dump station, and garbage/recycling stations.

 

A 35-mile river flows into a 150-acre lake that is surrounded by steep hills and bluffs. There is a campground opposite the dam on the north side of the small reservoir. The area is situated in a heavily wooded environment that provides a suitable habitat for various native plants and animals.

 

This park offers 7 miles of hiking trails, overlook seating areas, and a swimming beach for hikers. There are a variety of trails available for horseback riders. Casting reels is a year-round activity for fishermen. There are numerous opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, and electric-motor boating.
