Established in 2000 by the Williamson family, Lumber River Campground and Trail Ride is an exceptional getaway destination for horse and nature enthusiasts. Situated on sixty acres of pristine countryside next to the scenic Lumber River in Columbus County, this campground offers a blend of natural beauty and excellent facilities, making it a top choice for campers and equestrians alike.

The campground features two barns with horse stalls available for rent, providing a safe and comfortable space for horses. Guests can also reserve a specific lot with a deposit, ensuring they have their preferred spot during their stay.

Directions:

We are located approximately sixty miles from Myrtle Beach SC, Fayetteville NC, and Wilmington NC, and only thirty miles from Interstate 95, and the Boys and Girls Home Horse Arena in Lake Waccamaw, NC.

 

Lumber River Campground and Trail Ride offers the following facilities and amenities:

Cabins include one double bed (sleeps two), bathroom with shower, microwave, refrigerator, and television. Picnic tables and grills are located adjacent to each cabin. Bed linen is provided. Please bring your own towels, washcloths, and personal hygiene items. Double occupancy only. No pets or other animals of any kind are allowed.

 

Cost Details:

  • Full Hook-Up (Water, Electric & Sewer - 30Amp) - $45 per day
  • Full Hook-Up (Water, Electric & Sewer - 50Amp) - $50 per day
  • Electric & Water Only - $35 per day
  • Cabins - $80 per day
  • Stalls (8x9) - $10 per day
  • Primitive Camping - $20/day for 1 adult (+ child)
  • Guest Fee - $10 per person per day (day pass) / $20 per person overnight

 

Notes:

  • Current Negative Coggins Test Required for ALL Horses
  • Golf Carts Welcome - No ATV's or Dirt Bikes
  • Dogs are allowed on-leash on the campground and off-leash on the trails. No pit bulls allowed.
  • Bring your camper, bring your tent, or call ahead to reserve one of our cabins or campers. All of our campsites include full hookups, equipped with electricity and water, unless you primitive camp. In our two barns, horse stalls are also available for rent. With a deposit, you can also reserve a specific lot to camp.
