Directions:

From Pinedale, drive south on US 191 for 12 miles, turn left at the gas station in the town of Boulder, and head east on WY 353 for 7 miles. Take another left onto Scab Creek Road/CR-122 follow this road for 1.5 miles and take a slight left onto Scab Creek Access Road/BLM 5423, follow that until you reach Scab Creek Recreation Area, roughly 5.5 miles.

From the Town of Pinedale, Wyoming, head south on United States Highway 191 (US-191) for about 12 miles, then turn left on Wyoming State Highway 353 (WY-353), after approximately 6.5 miles take a left onto Scab Creek Road/County Road 122 (CR-122). Follow CR-122 for approximately 1.5 mile and bear left at the fork getting onto Scab Creek Road/Bureau Land Management (BLM) Road 5423 and follow it for 8 miles and access to Scab Creek Trailhead is on the left. Approximate travel details from the Town of Pinedale: 28 miles, 37 minutes.

 

Scab Creek Campground offers the following facilities and amenities:

  • Two camping areas, one for small vehicles, and one for pack stock, trailers, and large RVs.
  • Equestrian campsites
  • Vault toilettes
  • Potable water
  • Horse corrals in areas where pack stock is allowed.

 

Scab Creek Trailhead

This trailhead offers separate parking areas for backpackers and equestrians, corrals, and toilet facilities. It is located adjacent to the Scab Creek campground, which along with the trailhead is administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
