Pine River Campground is located four miles beyond Middle Mountain Campground, at the end of Forest Rd. 602. The campground is adjacent to the Pine River Trailhead. This area is often used as a temporary base camp and parking area for hikers and backpackers.

Campsites accommodate only tents or small RVs. All 6 campsites have views up the Pine River Valley. There is no potable water. This primitive campground has a parking area with hitching posts and a turn-around parking area for trailers, but no corral.
