Aside from hiking and horseback riding, Pine Marten is a popular area in the Upper Peninsula for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, trail running, mountain biking, canoeing and fishing in the nearby lakes.

The trail system loops around the wild and scenic Indian River, bogs, rolling hills, and numerous lakes (Swan, Nineteen, Ironjaw, Triangle, Dinner, Spud, Rumble, Sprinkler, Verdant, Rim and Hub lakes).
