The equestrian trails at McIver State Park are the best for winter riding and newbies, and the Meadow Loop has several training obstacles, sponsored by the local chapter of Oregon Equestrian Trails. I ride here several times a month. The parking lot is huge and while I've seen it busy, there's always room for another rig!
